THE COMPING ROLE

It is a great joy to be able to reflect in this course years of work in the beautiful language of the guitar in tango, and above all of research in teaching. It is not the same to be able to play something as to be able to transmit that way of playing to another person, and that is what we are here for!

This course is designed so that in 4 classes you will have all the necessary resources to be able to play a tango. For each of the contents we work on there are examples played by guitar referents, exercises to incorporate that resource, and practices where we apply on a tango everything that was worked on in that class. That is to say, each class ends with playing a different tango. For that I prepared for them, besides exercises, backing tracks to accompany singers and bandoneon players and to play for real!

The research and writing of my book “La Guitarra en el tango” is obviously the framework that gives structure to these classes, but you should know that the classes of this course were given many times, in workshops, in courses, in universities and conservatories, in private lessons, in workshops in many places around the world and for very different audiences. 

All this experience made me change the classes, change the order in which I gave the contents, look for the best examples, change the exercises, and not take for granted things that I thought were understood. The situation we had to live through last year at a global level was also part of this process of change, I had to adapt all those years of work to the virtual world, until I reached the form they have now, which will surely not be the definitive form. 

This is an “On Demand” course that means that once you register you have access to the 4 classes that are part of the course and to all the materials: examples, exercises, pdfs, practices and backing tracks.

Each participant takes the pace they need and lessons can be replayed as many times as you need.
